Safe Haven Maternity Home

Safe Haven opened its doors in 1992 to provide a safe nurturing environment for pregnant young women who are homeless or in unsafe or non-supportive living situation throughout Douglas County. Safe Haven services from Glendale to the South and Northern Douglas County to Drain and to the West at Reedsport.

We are currently licensed to house eight women and eight babies.  We have assisted over two hundred women in need.  Each resident may stay through her pregnancy, delivery, and up to several months after.  An individual plan is developed to assist their safety and support prior to leaving Safe Haven.

Safe Haven Maternity Home's objective is to provide a safe home environment that strives to meet the spiritual, emotional, physical, and educational needs of pregnant young women and their babies who are homeless or in crisis. The strategy of our program implements an individualized long range plan for each resident. This includes independent living skills, the most important of which is parenting skills, decision making, and conflict resolution.
